Mission Statement For Gunnison County Affordable Housing Gunnison County will ensure all residents have timely access to a decent, safe, adaptable, and affordable shelter offering a living environment suitable for creation of a good home for every family who wants one. When and where timely provision of such housing can not be achieved through private efforts, it will be provided through the cooperative efforts of public, non-profit, and actual and/or potential user groups in ways intended to insure maximum alternatives to users of location, design, construction, tenure, energy efficiency, self governance and maintenance, adaptability, ability to use space adjoining housing units for child care or gardening, with timely and appropriate provision of required infrastructure both on-site and off-site, and with capability of recycling materials and restoration of the land.
