Control of Potato Insects with Foliar Insecticides, Larimer County, Colorado, 1985
Abstract
Abstract ‘Russet Burbank’ potatoes were planted 9 May, ’85 at the Colorado State University Horticulture Research Center, Larimer County, CO. Plots were 3 row (30 inch spacing), 25 ft in length randomized in a complete block design with 4 replications. Treatments were applied 12 Aug using a CO2 compressed air sprayer delivering 61 gal/acre. Evaluation of potato psyllid and green peach aphid were made 16 Aug and 26 Aug by counting 35 leaves per plot. CPB larvae were collected from nearby vegetation and confined with treated foliage picked after sprays had dried. Mortality of CPB larvae was assessed 24 and 96 h after exposure to treated foliage.
