Holarctic marmots as a factor of biodiversity
Abstract
Circadian rhythms of body temperature were evident during deep torpor in 11 of 12 individuals. The mean period was 23.94 hours. Circadian cycles of oxygen consumption were apparent in Jive of 14 marmots. Arousal tended to occur during the increase phase of the cycle.
