Snowmelt manipulation using shade cloths
Local Knowledge Graph (41 entities)
Loading graph...
Description
Shade cloths suspended 3m above treatment plots accelerate snowmelt by 5-7 days when snowpack reaches ~1m depth, simulating earlier spring snowmelt conditions. Cloths removed after complete treatment plot snowmelt.
Typical Equipment
- shade cloths
- 3m rebar stakes
- PVC poles
Output Measurements
- advanced snowmelt timing
- earlier growing season initiation
