Scripts and data to produce figures for the SVS2 paper submitted to GMD

Description

The Soil, Vegetation, and snow model version 2.0 (SVS2) is a land surface model developed by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) to be used in the context of land surface prediction. SVS2 is described in a manuscript submitted to GMD (https://egusphere.copernicus.org/preprints/2025/egusphere-2025-3396/). This repository contains the scripts and data used to generate the figures presented in the manuscript. It is divided into two subfolders: point_scale_simulations_SCB/ contains the scripts and data to generate Figures 3, 4 and 5 for the simulations at Snow Crested Butte. distributed_simulations/ contains the scripts and data to generate Figures 2 and 6 to 11 for the distributed simulations along a transect in Eastern Canada. Observations used in this evaluation are shared in this repository: Snow pit data are distributed in the folder distributed_simulations/data/obs/snow_pits/ Snow cover data from GMASI are distributed in the folder distributed_simulations/data/obs/gmasi Information about the ERA5 atmospheric forcing are provided in the folder distributed_simulations/forcing. The configuration files used for the 1D and 2D simulations presented in the manuscript are also available in their respective subfolders. Readme files are present in the different subfolders to guide the user.
